  • Brinsea Octagon 20 Eco Incubator with Autoturn Cradle

    1 Review(s)

    Great Value With Automatic Turning

Brinsea has worked hard to bring their high quality engineered incubators to the general public. Everyone deserves to have a high quality incubator at a reasonable price, and the Octagon 20 Eco Incubator with Autoturn cradle is the ideal solution. By replacing digital controls with simple to use manual controls (it comes preset and ready to incubate chickens), they have made this incubator more accessible to hobby breeders or new breeders. Not only is this incubator easy to use and provides high hatch rates, it also comes with an automatic turn cradle to help save you time. Although manaul turning is much easier with the Octagon line than with other incubator brands, you still have to be there in order to turn it. With the autoturn cradle, you can feel less like a mother hen constantly tending to her eggs. With a 24 Chicken egg capacity, there is plenty of room here to get a new breeding project off to a great start!

    Great Value Incubator

The Octagon 20 Eco combines the high quality engineering of Brinsea with a low- ticket cost. By replacing digital controls with simple to use manual controls (it comes preset and ready to incubate chickens), they have made this incubator more accessible to hobby breeders or new breeders. With a 24 Chicken egg capacity, there is plenty of room here to get a new breeding project off to a great start! This listing does not include the autoturn cradle, but the unique octagon design of these incubators makes manual turning much easier than with most devices- all you have to do is rock the incubator on to the 3 flat surfaces on the bottom, changing position about once every 4 hours. With most incubators, you would need to manually turn every single egg by hand! So even with manually turning, it still provides significant time savings over other manual turning incubators. Of course, you can also add an auto-turn cradle at any time for greater ease of use.

This incubator is an economic option for those who are in love with Brinsea quality. With a capacity to hold 48 chicken eggs, this unit has double the capacity of the smaller units with all of the accuracy. This unit also includes an exterior turning rack, so the risk of contamination from motor grease or metal shavings is non-existent. Incubating chicken eggs requires the right tools. Here we have the best incubators specifically designed for successful chicken egg incubation. A chicken egg incubator is designed to keep your chicken eggs at the correct temperature for the duration of the incubation period, a total of 21 days. For the first 18 days, the eggs must be turned at regular intervals to keep the yolk from sticking, and to allow it to gather nutrients from the albumen (egg whites). Chicken egg turning can be done by hand or by using an automatic egg turner. Whether or not an automatic chicken egg turner is necessary will depend on your preference and your schedule. Many people hold jobs outside of the home or farm, and are not readily available to turn the eggs as consistently as they would like, and would benefit greatly from an automated turner. Others prefer to turn by hand as it allows them to keep a close watch on the progress of their chicks. One way is not better than the other, they are simply different methods for different lifestyles and choices. If you need help deciding what chicken egg incubator is right for you, please call us at (800) 259-9755 to discuss your options.
