Egg Packaging and Storage

When raising birds, you will inevitably come across an egg or two (or possibly thousands!). The question then is what to do with them.

I've Got Eggs- Now What?

Most people do one of three things with the eggs their flock produces- eat them, hatch them, or sell them. Before any of these things can be done, the eggs must first be collected. Eggs are then stored in one of two types of containers- cartons or trays. These containers will help to protect your eggs, and can help make counting and tracking an easier job.

Egg Cartons

Egg cartons are typically used for storage of eggs intended for consumption or for resale. They have a lid that helps to protect the eggs and keep them clean during transport. They come in styrofoam, plastic, or paper mache and are made for many different egg sizes.

Egg Trays

Egg trays, or flats, do not have a lid like egg cartons do. They typically have a much larger capacity and can often be stacked for storage. We offer both paper egg trays and plastic egg trays for a variety of egg sizes. These can also be used to hold eggs during incubation in a cabinet incubator

Whether storing, selling, or incubating eggs, egg cartons and trays can help to make your job a lot easier. If you need any assistance selecting the right product for you, feel free to contact us at (800)259-9755.
